I think there has to be more to this story then what they have written. It just doesn't seem to make sense to me.

I thought it sounded odd to- or how they couldn't get out of the car?? I would think if you were in the car and alert enough to make a call you would be able to get out? Doesn't the car just have to fill up before the doors would open? IDK? Maybe with auto locks and windows they lock up and don't open under water? That would be a ahorrible way to die, I couldn't even imagine!!! OMG!
But when they spoke to people around the area it sounds like it would of been easy to do if you didn't know the area? Sounds like a lot of people went out in the area to star gaze. Either way it is horrible, I can't imagine foul play being a factor but wouldn't be surprised if alchohol or something was a involved... Who knows. What a tragic loss...

I can see it happening... The car wouldn't sink the second it hit the water, so it's very possible that thought they just drove into a marsh and needed somebody to come pull them out. By the time they were realized they were sinking it's very possible that they were deep enough in the water that the doors wouldn't open against the pressure of the water and the electrical system was shot so they couldn't open the windows...

What a terrifying thing to have happen.... Actually, for some reason this has always been one of my biggest fears, so I have always had an emergency tool in my car that can break my windows and cut my seat belt.

I feel really bad for the families of these girls....regardless of what happened in the car that night, these families must be going through he!!...

I had wondered if the the driver of the vehicle was intending to commit suicide and decided to take her friends with her. That isn't a very nice thing to think, but it is something that is possible.

About 10 years ago I had a good friend die like this near Garretson. He went in the water and they figure he panicked and couldn't get the doors open because of the pressure. Ended up drowning.

What a horrible way to go, my thoughts and prays go out to the friends and families.

There was a local man several years ago that passed out on the way home and sunk his car in the water. He was found later by friends in the driver seat with just his head out of the water. That's pretty close.

KSFY- did a reenactment of a sinking car. The link above takes you to the story, but there is video showing Bryan Allen, in a car, going into lake Okoboji and how to escape. Sorry Kelo.

I was extremely surprised that KELO didn't do anything on this story....since it was so close to home...and it being a missing persons case.
